A particular subclass of extracellular vesicles known as exosomes transports important information in the form of proteins, bioactive lipids, mRNAs, and small RNAs. Exosomes are essential for cell-to-cell communication and are involved in many facets of health and illness. Their potential for diagnostic and therapeutic applications is suggested by their altered characteristics in numerous diseases, including cancer. Therefore, the separation and characterization of exosomes from bodily fluids can yield a wealth of information that is crucial for early disease detection, disease monitoring, and the creation of potent anti-cancer and anti-autoimmune disease treatments. Different technologies are used for exosome characterization in order to more precisely define exosome characteristics and ease downstream application.
